Oh my goodness. Liberty is 9 pounds of perfection. PERFECTION! I really can't emphasize this enough. Everything from her gorgeous full cheeks to the swirl on her hair line. I really wish that I could have taken her home with me! This sweet peep didn't want to fall asleep until the very end of the session. Her big sister, Temple just adored her and also wanted to snuggle her as much as I did!

Gwendolyn & Vivian - Laura Pope Photography San Jose Twin Newborn Photographer

The only thing sweeter than a newborn session is a session with two of them! I can't even contain myself! Gwendolyn & Vivian were tiny and perfect. It's amazing that they each had such different personalities, even with being just days old! Vivian (on the right in the picture below) definitely has a spunk about her. She's feisty and fierce, and I can already see what she's going to be like at 2. She looks just like her big sister Lydia who just adores them both. Gwendolyn is laid back and seems to be pretty easy going. Although during one pose, I was placing Vivian next to her and she flailed her arms, hitting Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn opened one eye, raised her eyebrow, and looked around to evaluate what was happening. It was too funny!

Waiting for Baby Oliver - San Jose Maternity Photographer

I was so, SO honored when Kristen reached out to me and asked me to be the one to do her maternity photos! She is another local photographer and we met a couple of years ago at a photography seminar. I love networking with other photographers in San Jose! It's so fun to have a great group of colleagues to share things with. 

Anyway, we chose to do her maternity photos at this great Los Altos location and we were in for a real treat. Near the end of the session, horses came up to us looking for treats! We gave them a few scratches, but none of us happened to have carrots, so they quickly moved along. I have to say, it made for some awesome photos. 

We had a blast and my favorite part of the whole session was how much I could tell Kristen & Felipe were in love. Sure, I could say that about any couple that I have the pleasure of photographing, but these two had something truly special that I just loved witnessing. Baby Oliver is so lucky to be born into this family!!

San Jose Family Photographer - Fall 2015 Mini Shoot photos!!

I'm so excited for my annual fall min session that's coming up in October! Mini sessions are so much fun! Here are 2014 & 2013. It's a great way to get your photos together for holiday cards and to update the family year book. 

I've picked out two great locations for 2015 and added a couple more slots since they were filled so quickly last year. 

Mini sessions will be $195 for a 30 minute slot + 7 high resolution digital images in an online gallery + print release. Mini sessions will be held in the San Jose Bay Area with limited availability. Mini sessions can be used for family portraits (up to 5 people), maternity, engagement, or cake smash. San Jose Newborn Photographer - Welcome to the World, Nathan!

I met Pete & Jenny in April when we did their maternity session in South San Jose. Jenny was beaming with that pregnancy glow that every pregnant woman longs for. You can see it for your self here! 

I was so excited when they asked me to take newborn photos once their new bundle arrived. We picked a date and everything was set. A few weeks later, Jenny emailed me and said they were on their way to the hospital! The next day, their gorgeous boy was born. Early, but perfect and healthy in every way. 

Nathan was not only handsome and sweet, but he was truly the strongest newborn I had ever photographed. It's incredible that he was born early and still had all of that strength. It's not all that surprising since his daddy used to throw discus. Could you imagine what kind of strength Nathan would have had if he was born on his due date?! I spent so much time trying to get him to straighten his little fingers out, and he would just grip my hand or clench his fist tighter than any other newborn I had ever seen! Pete, you must be so proud!!

Congratulations, Pete & Jenny! You have one spectacular boy!!

Alora Wolf - Senior Portrait San Jose Photographer

I'll just warn you now. This entry is going to be LOADED with photos and a pretty sweet story to go with it. I've known Alora for about 2 years now because I've been photographing her family since her brother was born! Her family and I have gotten to know each other as we've done multiple sessions together and I truly just love them all. When I got a call from Alora's mentor, Brittain, she said that she was going to surprise Alora with senior portraits and wanted to know if I could do them. I was so excited to be in on the surprise! It was such a special gift from Brittan who surprised Alora with getting her hair & make up done on top of photos. As you can tell from the photos, we had a blast the entire time. Most of the photos were taken at a special child hood park in San Francisco that Alora loved growing up.

Get ready to see a zillion pictures! I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous model. Congratulations, Alora! And here's to your next journey in life!
